The Village of Arrow Rock is hosting nationally celebrated Missouri Folk Artists Dave Para and Cathy Barton at their annual Christmas Folk Sing on Sunday, December 6th.  The program, called Christmas with Dave Para, Cathy Barton, and Friends, features traditional Christmas songs, poems and readings about Christmas with lots of audience participation.  It will be from 4:00 – 6:00 pm and is open to the public free of charge. 

Barton and Para have visited Arrow Rock on an annual basis during the start of the Christmas season since 1976.  This annual program has become a folk tradition of its own.    “This program has always been one of our favorite concerts we perform all year,” stated Cathy Barton.  She went on to say that this concert is their way of celebrating the Christmas music and cultural traditions of Christmas.  “We think of ourselves as links in a chain, passing on the musical traditions we have received.”
