Why I Love the Church

In May of 2023 Associate Regional Minister for Greater St. Louis David Woodard was so moved by Disciples rushing to help each other and BEING the Church that he just had to share the experience with all of us. His story is archived below, but we know that this is not an isolated incident. All over Mid-America Disciples are going above and beyond for each other every day – and we need to celebrate it! So we started a new article series to highlight “Why I Love the Church.” About once per month we’ll plan to share a story about an act of kindness, a leap of faith, an extraordinary situation, or a simple gesture that made someone think, “That’s why I love the church.” Some will come from our Regional Ministers or other staff, some may be from local clergy, but we invite anyone who’s experienced such a moment to let us know, so we can celebrate it together.
