  • Camp Tambo 2659 Camp MoVal Rd Union, MO 63084 (map)

Camp MoVal is reclaiming its civil rights and racial reconciliation heritage by celebrating Camp TAMBO. (TAMBO means That All May Be One - John 17:21)  Since the early 1960s, TAMBO was a camp that welcomed youth from Joint Neighborhood Houses in St. Louis and was integrated into the Camp MoVal program.  At that time, the MoVal pool was the only integrated pool in Union, MO and it welcomed all neighborhood children. Many TAMBO campers had no experiences away from the city and found sacred ground and relationship.  The Outdoor Ministries Board of the Missouri Mid-South United Church of Christ is hosting this first annual outdoor music event to raise awareness of its heritage and to begin receiving donations for the development of the TAMBO Justice and Witness Center to be a retreat for all people.

Congregations and groups are invited to set up booths to sell food or crafts and to showcase their own ministries at no charge. For booth reservation and information contact Ms. Mariah Newell, Program Director at Mariah.moval@mmsucc.org.

See the flyer for more information.
