On Saturday, April 28th Memorial Boulevard Christian Church held its 44th annual Hike Against Hunger. A group of about 18 hearty souls gathered to embark on a 20k walk through the neighborhoods of St. Louis. Walkers represented not only MBCC but Webster Groves CC, Florissant Valley CC, and Liberty CC near Kansas City. Also present for the event were two representatives from Week of Compassion to speak briefly about the event's impact.
This year's goal is to raise $12,000 to support Uganda's Farm STEW Project, and over $5,500 has already come in toward that end. Over the years the Hike has raised a total of $475,782.92 over 31,072 miles walked in support of the various worthy causes selected by organizers.
