Hike Against Hunger

  • St. Louis Shaw neighborhood (map)

This year Memorial Boulevard Christian Church's annual Hike Against Hunger has a goal of raising $12,000. The first $10,000 will be sent to West Timor to "improve the food security through aflatoxins prevention actions." Aflatoxins are not only causing economic losses to farmers and producers but they also have hazardous effects on young children's development and can even lead to children's deaths. Receiving $1,000 each will be MBCC's Food Bank and Emergency Assistance program and the Week of Compassion Endowment Fund.

The 20 KM hike features breakfast after 10 KM and lunch at the end. Hikers are welcome to walk as little or as much as they want to as drivers will pick people up along the route as needed. Find more information here.
