Standing

Clergy wanting to be officially recognized by the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and supported as commissioned or ordained ministers start that process by visiting with a member of the Regional Minister Team.    

Standing is a privilege reserved for those clergy willing to prepare well, to maintain high standards of professionalism, and to take an active role in expanding the reach and positive impact of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).  

New standards and processes were developed by the General Commission on the Order of the Ministry and implemented by the General Assembly in 2011.  All new ministers and pastoral staff seeking standing will follow the revised processes for applying for standing.  All Mid-America Disciples clergy are required to complete a request for renewal of standing annually.
